The project involves converting the University of Damascus’ Old National Hospital into a Convention Centre. It features an auditorium, multipurpose hall, seminar rooms, ancillary spaces, and the President’s offices. The design emphasizes preserving and showcasing the historical building. The new structure, housing the multipurpose hall, adopts a contemporary and light expression, integrating seamlessly with the existing context. The interior design seamlessly blends old and new elements, using materials reminiscent of Damascene traditions. The external landscape serves as a unifying element, with a large water surface reflecting the interconnectedness of past, present, and future.
