Founded in 1823 as the American School for Girls, the Lebanese American University (LAU) evolved from the American Junior College for Women in 1927 to Beirut University College in 1973 and finally LAU. The university expanded to Byblos in 1988 with a campus designed by Samir Khairallah & Partners. Situated at varying altitudes, the site features academic hubs, residential facilities, and communal areas. The master plan embraces topography, utilizing split-level organization and elevated gardens to create a dynamic academic environment while preserving natural qualities.
